Our New Bedford, MA client is seeking a Process Engineer for their medical and aerospace division.   • BS in Material Science or Ceramic Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment that utilizes raw material handling, mixing, molding, and high temperature baking equipment (mixers, presses, ovens, etc.) is REQUIRED
  • Understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS9100 is REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures is REQUIRED
  • Materials experience - specific to ceramics
  • MUST be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to ITAR regulations in manufacturing plants
  • Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes - including production work flow, raw material specs, mixing, molding, and high temperature baking processes and equip. specs.
  • Design & implement improvements to processes, methods and controls
  • Develops manufacturing Drawings, BOM, Routers, Work Instructions, and Control Plans using manufacturing engineering best practices
  • Provide support in new product development and testing, APQP, PAP, product and process validation,product audits, drawing & BOM conformance, and projects related to standard work & reduction in process variation
  • Prepares quotations for labor, tooling and equipment
  • Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvements initiatives for cost reduction,scrap reduction, yield improvements and increased overall equipment efficiency
  • Represents process engineering on cross-functional teams.  Communicate with engineering, quality and supply chain team to assist in MRB, RMA, material disposition, root-cause analysis and in preparation and follow-up of correction action reports
  • Writes and submits Capital Expenditure requests
